We posed 3 questions to local adventure activities in Plett
Here’s what Hog Hollow Horse Trails had to say:
PT: What makes your product unique?
It’s a unique way to explore The Crags. Guests can tailor make their own day. We are the only horse drawn carriage wine tasting trail on the Garden Route. And we cater for all ages, abilities and maximum weight greater than other horse trail operators.
Hog Hollow Horse Trails offers guests the unique opportunity to explore and enjoy the beautiful area at the foot of the Tstsikamma Mountains known as The Crags, on horseback. This area offers pristine forest, farmland, vineyards and numerous tourist attractions. With Hog Hollow Horse Trails guests can tailor make their day and choose if they want to ride in the forest, to wine farms, animal sanctuaries or a picnic venue on the magnificent Kurland Estate. Hog Hollow Horse Trails also offers the only horse drawn carriage trail in this area where guests enjoy a carriage ride along farm lanes between two boutique owner managed wine estates for wine tastings, cellar tour and delectable lunch on Plettenberg Bay’s spectacular wine route.
We are also the only horse back riding venue catering for riders of all ages and abilities, andor riders of up to 110kg whereas most other trail operators have a maximum weight of 85kg. We have invested in four huge Percheron draft horses and featherweight endurance saddles, fitted to each horse, to allow heavier riders to be accommodated safely.
PT: Why have you selected Plett as the home for your business?
Plettenberg Bay and surrounds is a perfect venue for our business. We have been operating a country lodge in this area for the past 25 years and know the area and the local residents and tourism businesses very well. This enables us to work together with these other tourist attractions to offer a unique experience to our guests where they can tailor make their day, combining attractions in our area and riding to them on horseback.
Plettenberg Bay offers great weather, magnificent natural surrounds and indigenous forest and fynbos. This is a beautiful environment for guests to enjoy on horseback.
PT: Describe your product in three words:
