The Bloukrans Bungy is the worlds highest commercial bungy bridge. It is also the highest commercial natural bungy jump in the world. We have had a number of world records associated with Bloukrans. In 2003, Bloukrans bungy was recognised as the worlds highest commercial bungy jump. In 2008 we were part of two more world records. Veronica Dean performed 19 bungy jumps in one hour and Bill Boshoff performed 101 jumps in a 24 hour period. Bill’s world record was subsequently surpassed, but in 2011 we facillitated Scott Huntley to regain the world record with 107 jumps in the 24 hour period.

We have played host to the likes of Prince Harry, Jack Osbourne, Thabo Mbeki, The Zuma family, Bobby Skinstad, Hansie Cronje, Fanie De Villiers, KellySlater, Andy Irons, The Amazing Race, and many more famous and not so famous visitors – you never know who you could meet on any given day at Bloukrans, the worlds highest bungy bridge !

We have also been contracted by ITV’s “I’m a celebrity get me out of here”, The USA production of “The Amazing Race” and have featured in a number of local and international advertising productions.

The owners of Face Adrenalin and the Bloukrans Bungy jump were instrumental in introducing bungy jumping to the African continent in 1990. The first bridge to be bungy jumped off in Africa was the Bloukrans River Bridge. At the time, this was the highest bungy jump to be performed in the world!

Our first bungy jump and bridgeswing operation began in 1990 from the Gourits River Bridge near Mosselbay under the name of Kiwi Extreme.

In 1991, through Kiwi Extreme, we introduced bungy jumping from a crane at the Rand Show in Johannesburg. Kiwi Extreme also ran crane bungy jumping and catapult bungy operations at the old Gunston 500 surfing competitions in Durban for a number of years. Other locations around the country also played host to our crane bungy operations.

In 1993 we helped establish the highest bungy jump of it’s time at the Victoria Falls bridge bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe. We no longer have any interest in this operation.

In 1997 we established the current worlds highest commercial bungy bridge from the Bloukrans River Bridge. This bridge borders the Eastern and Western Cape and is situated in the Tsitsikamma area of the Garden Route.

For a brief period in time, offered bungy jumping from the Table Mountain Cableway. Unfortunately, due to the operational requirements of the cableway, we were unable to continue with this as a permanent operation.

The Bloukrans bridge is 216 meters (709 feet) above the Bloukrans River. Our bungy jump operations is open 365 days of the year during all weather conditions (except gale force winds).

Face Adrenalin is owned by Devan Tuohey and Chris Upton who have a combined 43 years experience in bungy jumping and adventure tourism. Our primary focus is on maintaining the highest quality safety standards on our operations so that bungy jumping can be experienced and enjoyed by all.
