Biopic of the bold and controversial life of artist Frida Kahlo. Set in Mexico City, this visually evocative film traces her lifelong, tempestuous relationship with her mentor and her illicit affairs with Trotsky and various women. Her forward-thinking artistic, political and sexual attitudes are explored as we witness a hard-drinking, passionate woman of the early 1900s, a role which earned an Oscar nomination for Salma Hayek. Steep yourself in the life & times of Frida with delectable Mexican fare from executive chef, Paul, at The Fat Fish.
Guests will be greeted with a welcome drink and proceed straight to the screening of the movie during which a range of Mexican inspired Movie Snacks / Tapas will be served. The film will be followed by main course and dessert.
The Fat Fish executive head chef Paul has this to say:
“Using her romantic and passionate relationship with Mexico and its people we hope to create a menu that is just as inspirational and fiery as Frida herself – the revolutionary artist and lover. Obviously Mexican cuisine and culture, the bold primary colours of both the country and Frida’s art, not to mention its music, will all play their part as we put this menu together. A variety of flavors and unique dishes (Pozole, Mojo Pork Cubanos, Cochinita Pibil, Tacos and Churros) from different parts of Mexico will take guests on a cultural journey as they enjoy the tumultuous cinematic ride through this incredible artist’s life.”
