Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival 2017
The 2017 Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival will take place over the weekend of 7 & 8 October in Plettenberg Bay. We’re bringing out the bubbly to toast the good life – because Plett, it’s a feeling!
Here are three reasons we feel you really shouldn’t miss this year’s Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival:
1. Plett’s award-winning wines
Plett, as an official wine of origin region, is still relatively new to the wine industry. The first estate, Bramon, was established 2000. You can now taste the products from 11 of Plett’s wine farms at the 2017 Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival – more than 30 different wines. Including; Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Méthode Cap Classique. Plett’s bubblies have been particularly well-received, winning awards both nationally and internationally. You can chat to the wine makers and taste their award winning wines at the Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival.
Wine estates to be featured at the 2017 Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival:
Andersons Wine | Bitou Vineyards | Bramon Wine Estate | Kay & Monty Vineyards | Lodestone Wine & Olives | Luka Wines | Newstead Lund Family Vineyards | Packwood Wine Estate | Plettenvale Wine Estate | Redford Lane Wines | That Place Wines
2. Tastes of Plett
What would good wine and bubbly be without delicious food? The 2017 Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival pairs some of Plett’s most popular restaurants from town and from the farms themselves to bring a truly Plett taste sensation to the festival. Eat local and drink local with artisan cheeses, charcuterie and breads, sushi, savouries and of course – beautiful, succulent cultivated oysters.
3. Tour de Plett
The 2017 Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival can be more than eating, drinking and relaxing at the coast. Cyclists will be pleased to know that the popular Tour de Plett MTB race, now in its 7th year, will take place over the same weekend as the wine and bubbly festival. On Saturday 7 October, enjoy a day of mountain biking along the spectacular tracks and trails around Plett, including three exciting floating bridges. All of this finished off by raising a glass of bubbly to a Plett wine weekend! All funds raised at the Tour de Plett are for the Kwano Cycling Academy.
