On the 23 September 2014, the biggest climate change summit the world has ever seen, is happening in New York.
World leaders are concerned about the release of methane gas from under the Arctic tundra and have called this emergency summit to address this issue.
Join in with hundreds of thousands of people from all across the planet to have your voice heard!
Our world leaders do not believe that people care enough about climate change! Let’s show them that we do!
We are hosting our local Plett event on Sat 20th Sept, so we can send a recording of our event to the main march happening on Sun 21st Sept in New York. This they will add to all the other footage from all over the world, to send out one, unified voice to our world leaders.
All over this amazing planet of ours, people are gathering signatures to send to the UN summit.
We are asking our local, national and world leaders to commit to using 100% clean renewable energy to power our communities!
We are asking for legitimate, sincere and authentic participation in education, funding and the implementation of sustainable systems that will benefit all the communities!
We can make a difference today by changing little things that make a big difference for tomorrow!
Some points that will be listed on the petition for change in our local areas.
- More support of local organic food growers!
- Change in sustainable waste management(transport, carbon) on all levels, to ensure a clean earth, pure water and fresh air!
- Clean alternative energy sources to be looked at instead of more fossil fuels.
- An environmental officer for Bitou.
- More support for youth education, training and work in local conservation endeavors.
- Proper facility for disposing of toxic chemicals and harmful poisons.
These are just a few things we can do to make a difference for our children!
