Southern Right Whales arrive in Plett
It’s official – the Southern Right Whales have arrived in Plett!
Ocean Blue Adventures reports that the first southern right whales have been sighted in Plett just off Robberg. These magnificent animals swim from their feeding grounds in Antarctic waters to their breeding grounds off southern Africa every year.
Plettenberg Bay is one of the bays they use during their breeding, so we can expect that this is the first of many Southern Right Whales for this season. Just in time for WorldOceansDay on 8 June.
