Making the best of the loadshedding last week (when the switchboard and internet goes down), the Plett Tourism office personnel took the gap and visited The Heath. One of the perks of the job is visiting Plett’s attractions for first-hand knowledge and experience to pass on to our visitors. Brayley, an intern at the office went with Emily, Andy and Thandi and had this to report:
The Heath is situated in the attractive Plettenberg Bay on the N2, surrounded by beautiful trees and fresh air… The Plett Tourism team had a chance to go and explore the Heath a bit and what an incredible experience we had.
A very family-friendly fun place.
One of the first places we visited was the furniture shop, and they have so much to offer from handmade furniture, key rings, soaps what a wonderful experience that was doing a bit of ‘window shopping’.
The gift shop and clothing store was one of the highlights especially because everything is locally made here in our beautiful town. After leaving the gift shop the thing that caught my eye was the most charming little bookshop. ‘Don’t forget the Cheese Man’ attractively situated with a variety of cheeses and homemade sauces.
After a busy day of going on the Raptor Rescue tour, seeing all different types of owls rescued and now being taken care of, playing outside on the playground, and just shopping, it’s time for the café – fresh coffee and one of the most delicious toasties, but of course they have a menu that offers a variety of other food and beverages.
The Heath such a beautiful place and indeed so much to do – one of the nicest tourist attractions I have been to.
