Surrounded by forest, lagoon and less than 100 metres from the pristine beach and Ocean, Nectar Cottage lies in Nature’s Valley, the only village in South Africa situated inside a National Park. The Pearl of the Garden Route!

A spacious house with a large private garden, Nectar is a long-time favourite with families, wedding parties, and honeymooners. Nectar has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a warm outside shower and large braai / BBQ area. It has a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry, wireless Internet, an open fireplace, and those extra touches to make you feel at home. 250 metres from the house is a shop and restaurant which are open 364 days a year.Nature’s valley offers some of the best hiking in South Africa, including the famous Otter Trail which ends in Nature’s Valley, as well as lots of day trips for the fit and less fit. Canoeing, birding, swimming, fishing, whale and dolphin watching can all be enjoyed just a minutes’ walk from Nectar Cottage garden.

Within a range of about 20km you you will find The Elephant sanctuary, Monkey Land, Birds of Eden; and Tenikwa animal sanctuary; or you can enjoy kayaking, horse riding, cycling, golfing, diving, sailing, cruising, paragliding, parasailing, micro lighting, abseiling, and bungee jumping – the highest in the world! Drive a bit further and you will find Buffalo Hills Game Farm, Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary, The Butterfly sanctuary, Forest Ferns, Shamwari Game Reserve with the big 5, and the Wolf Sanctuary.

 

Directions

FROM JOHANNESBURG (1200 kms)
Take the N1 until Colesberg. At Colesberg turn onto the N9 via Graaff-Reinet until Uniondale. At Uniondale, turn onto the R339. After Prince Alfred’s Pass turn onto the R340 towards Plettenberg Bay. When you reach the N2, travel east towards Humansdorp and Port Elizabeth. (Note that the route after Uniondale includes sand roads).

Total distance approximately 1200 kms.

For alternate routes (Approx. 100 kms longer)
1. Continue on the N9 till George. Take the N2 direction Knysna, Plettenberg Bay.
2. The route via Port Elizabeth is an easy road without mountain passes.

FROM PLETTENBERG BAY (37 kms)
Travel east (direction Port Elizabeth) along the N2 from Plettenberg Bay for approximately 35 kilometres. Once you have passed Keurbooms and The Crags, just before the Bloukrans River bridge, turn right onto the R102, signposted Nature’s Valley.

FROM PORT ELIZABETH (200 kms)
Take the Nature’s Valley R102 turnoff just after the N2 tollgate.

FROM THE R102 (10 kms)

After approximately 10 km, enter Nature’s Valley.
