Scallop Lodge is our new addition to the luxury Shell Lodges Group, situated within walking distance to Robberg Blue Flag Beach, a safe swimming beach.
The Lodge is situated in a residential area, ideal for family and friends who wants to escape from the noise and city life.
All the rooms are very stylish decorated and reflect the surrounding sea and mountains. 4 of the 5 spacious rooms lead onto their own patio and the 5th room leads onto the communal pool area. 3 of the rooms have outside showers to enjoy stargazing at night, or to wash away the sands from Robberg Beach, which is within walking distance from the house. All rooms are en suite and can be converted into Kings or Twins. Our rooms are equipped with only the finest linen, heated towel rails, beach towels, safes and underfloor heating.
One of the features we offer to our guests is free secure garaged parking and free Wi-Fi.
The lodge can accommodated children if the suitable rooms are available.
Weserve a continental and English Breakfast daily. Breakfast is served in the open plan dining area or outside terrace to enjoy our indigenous garden. Although dinner is not served at the lodge, special arrangements can be made prior to arrival Plettenberg Bay hosts a variety of Restaurants within close proximity of the lodge.
Scallop Lodge has a beautiful open plan lounge area overlooking the swimming pool to relax and unwind. A Jet Master fireplace is available for the winter month’s Complimentary tea and coffee is available throughout the day.
There is as partially enclosed patio leading off the kitchen/dining area which has limited views and is protected from the elements, an ideal setting to catch up on reading.

A treatment room for aromatherapy massages and reflexology including beauty treatments are available at our other lodge, which is just a 5 minute walk from the lodge.

Activities and facilities in the area
There are approximately 70 restaurants, 6 bars and 10 coffee shops in and around Plettenberg Bay
Facilities within a 3km radius – Plettenberg Bay central business area with all the accompanying shops including Beauty Parlors, Boutiques, health spars and Pharmacies.
The following sporting facilities are available – Golf, Tennis, Bowls, Fishing, Boating, and Surfing, and Kite Surfing
Activities with a 30km radius – Horse riding, Polo, Monkey land Primate Sanctuary, Birds of Eden the world’s biggest free flight aviary. Elephant and Cheetah parks, Snake parks, wolf sanctuaries and various ocean based activities, Kayaking and cruising up the Keurbooms River. There is also skydiving and plane trips available in the area.
The world’s highest bungy jump is situated 37km from the Lodge.
For Golfing enthusiast, Plettenberg Bay offer 2 superb courses and we are in close proximity to Knysna – Pezula and Simola Golf Courses and 100km’s away to the world famous Fancourt Golf Course.
Whale and Dolphin Discovery Cruises are a highlight of Plettenberg Bay, and these mammals can be viewed from the balcony of your room, or from the lounge/dining area. The whale season starts end of July and continues to end of September early October.
The nearest airport is George which is 120km from Plettenberg Bay.
From Cape Town turn right off the N2 into Piesang Valley road. Follow the road down to the traffic circle and turn right, travel past the Kwik-spar and turn right intofirst Road. Turn right at Pachena Point Drive.Take the first road left again, Farallon Road. Travelling from Port Elizabeth you continue along the N2 and you then take a left into Piesang Valley Road and follow the directions as above.
Scallop Guest Lodge is a certified Carbon Neutral Lodge and participates in the Planet Green/Ocean Blue initiative. A portion of your account goes toward planting trees in the Crags (an area just 25km from Plettenberg Bay) to offset your carbon footprint. If you would like to participate in purchasing trees, we will advise the Foundation and you will be advised when the trees are planted as well as the co-ordinates of these trees.
