Overlooking Keurboomstrand and Robberg Peninsula, the vineyard falls in a gradual ecotone between fynbos and forest and enjoys cool sea breezes of the Indian Ocean. Keurbooms Heights east of Plettenberg Bay, a beautiful farm with sea and mountain views. Where the wild run free including caracal, bush pig and bush buck. To the call of the Fish Eagle in the valley, to the famous Knysna Turaco. The “Leto Venus” moth is found in the bark of the Keurboom trees…so the name came to be.
It was the passion that started the vineyards in 2007, by Bruce Anderson, a family friend not related to Ian Anderson, owner of the farm, Pine Haven. The farm of 109 hectares was bought by Ian and his father in 1972 . The 3 hectares of vineyards are located on the western side of the farm. There is a large dam above the vines. Bruce and Ian worked together as partners until 2012, when Bruce decided to withdraw from the project. Ian continues to look after and run the business.
First bottling was in 2011, 2014 will only be bottled in September 2014.
