About your guide, Phumzile Sonjani

Having grown up with Parents who always took us on traditional hunting and trekking adventure out into the bush and National Parks of Eastern Cape in Hogsback and later the Western Cape , a love and respect of nature was instilled at a very early age.

My post school education consisted of a number of years working as an Instructor with outward Bound South Africa, Leading youth Programmes on the personal development programmes throuhg the forest, Mountains and rivers in around South Africa, Grabouw Mountains known as Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve, Diepwalle forest in Knysna, Valley of 1000 Hills in Natal, Hogsback Forest and Potchefstroom and Malaysia, Borneo. After a promising 16 years in the youth development industry, I decided to follow my true, undeniable passion and head back into the African bush and the freelance guiding world in 2009.

This wonderful roller coaster has taken me across many different interesting experiences with internationals and relaxed programs and has fueled my drive to both gain knowledge as well as share my knowledge with the guests I host on my walks, hence our mission statement of experience, share , appreciate and Protect!

I have been fortunate enough to host birding trips in South Africa in my own cultural understanding . Leading whale watching trips through Southern Africa added numerous wonderful experiences to my life while sharing my passion for Africa with guests from across the Planet.

In 2008 I was appointed as the official guide on the renowned Eden to Addo greater corridor hike, a 400km slackpacking safari style pilgrimage to biodiversity. The hike starts in Plettenberg Bay and after 20 days of walking through the wilderness, ends in Addo.

A wonderful way to experience the Eden to Addo route. Following game trails and old ox wagon tracks over remote mountains.
