The boat cruise leaves from Sirocco Restaurant Jetty on Thesen Island in Knysna. From here on you can just unwind and savor the warm rays of the sun, sip on a glass of bubbly or an ice-cold beer, and enjoy the scenery. Spot our Marine Giants while tanning on trampolines, put out a line to see what bites, or take a snorkel at the old shipwreck.
We will sail out to the Seal Colony and The Robberg Nature reserve – a protected area. It is one of South Africa’s most interesting, beautiful and diverse reserves and is also a national monument because of the fascinating Stone Age caves, which offer a glimpse into our ancient past. Rocks from this region date back 120 million years . The reserve is famed for its flourishing Cape fur seal colony, whales, dolphins, coastal birdlife and unique fynbos. The marine reserve also extends 1.8km offshore, providing protection to a range of vulnerable fish species. See our sightings page for a list of some of the many species you may encounter.
On our way back we will drop anchor and enjoy delicious snacks, or even a BBQ should you wish. Enquire about our unique catering packages. Our standard charters include light mezze. For function or overnight stays: We can accommodate 12 guests on a cruise, 6 guests overnight or 30 for an event while anchored. We make it our mission to create a feeling of warmth and luxury with some fun and adventure if that’s what is called for, to ensure that each experience is unique and personal.
When we are anchored there’s ample time for swimming, snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding on our longer cruises. For the fishing enthusiast – Our boat is also fully equipped for fishing to access shallower areas in the lagoon for, where the famous kabeljou, grunter etc can be caught. We may even be lucky to find some chokka in the bay. Contact us to enquire about dedicated private fishing charters.
