Bayside Lodge selected to participate in the SA Tourism recovery programme
Bayside Lodge, a small five-room guest house located in a residential area of Plettenberg Bay is one of 80 South African tourism products selected to participate in the South Africa Tourism Recovery Programme which started in August 2021 and will continue until March next year.
The SA Tourism Recovery Programme involves 315 tourism businesses across Egypt, Mexico, South Africa, and Kenya. It was launched via a Global Kickoff event that took place on the 12th of August this year. After a detailed three-stage process, which included a motivation for tourism recovery, the successful applicants were selected. Bayside Lodge has launched their first basecamp-style slackpacking hiking trail in Plettenberg Bay and are very grateful for all the assistance being offered by their recovery programme experts.
They are thrilled with the benefits that they have received so far which have included financial assistance, staff training, staff assignments and mentorship opportunities. In addition to these benefits, Bayside Lodge will also be applying for one of the open sponsored spots to attend ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin)! ITB Berlin is one of Europe’s premier tourism trade travel shows.
Additionally, the TUI Group (Touristik Union International) is involved with the tourism recovery programme and is the world’s largest tourism entity, working with 1,600+ travel agencies, 6 major airlines, 300+ hotels and accommodation, and 17 cruise liners. Through the programme, they have applied to be loaded as a provider onto the TUI Musement Platform, another part of the TUI business pioneering digital transformation, with a unique digital business model that combines a state-of-the-art scalable digital platform, with local service delivery.
We wish Bayside Lodge every success in their new venture.
