With so many incredible options to host a stylish wedding in Plett, we decided to share a classic romantic celebration with all the colourful trimmings that will make your day memorable.

Personalising your flowers adds a beautiful touch on your special day. Flowers are a unique way to add personality and can signify something truly special.

The language of flowers has been around for centuries. They are often used to express emotions when words often fail. Today, florists create bouquets and centerpieces with flowers that have significant meanings. While flowers with a love connection, like roses, are very popular, there are many other meaningful traits to consider – like new beginnings (daffodil), faith (iris), and perseverance (hydrangea).

For this photoshoot, the backdrop to set the floral scene was at Plett’s iconic Pippa’s Flowers studio. The main idea was to highlight special flowers to reflect a unique symbol of love. Pippa’s Flowers create every floral element for weddings of all sizes, from detailed buttonholes and romantic bridal bouquets to ceremony arrangements, leafy floral arches, and apart from specializing in weddings and events, fresh seasonal blooms are available daily for delivery or collection.

Using luscious and abundant blooms, our uber-creative stylist Mandy Varrie from Munchitsa created a special look with a unique mood for the shoot.

Once you have set the scene, it would be amiss to not mention the bride-to-be and the importance of nails. Every bride needs a beautifully manicured set of nails on the wedding day. Npod Nails at The Market on Main, offers manicures, polishes and treatments for the big day.  Npod is a new concept nail bar open at The Market on Main.

Nella Hair and Makeup Salon perfected our model Nadine’s hair and delicate make-up. Nella Hair offers clients a luxury experience with the latest massage chairs, premium products, comfortable basins, relaxing scalp massages and complementary refreshments.

Complementing our model Nadine’s wedding look was stunning adornments from Logan Harris Jewellery, a manufacturer of bespoke handmade jewellery. They are also a supplier of diamonds, semi-precious and precious stones.

Another trendy option for bridal and bridal party gifts can be found at Willemijn Murray, the small ‘lifestyle emporium’ with hand-crafted boutique jewellery, accessories and garments.

Our talented local photographer for this shoot was Esther Reid Photography. Creating memories and dealing with brides is her specialty. A good photographer takes the time to help determine the importance of angles, how shots should line up and find a way to maximise the staging on your special day.

Your culinary options should be memorable and just as tasty. Dee Hartley from Dee’s Catering created beautiful platters of mini gourmet food for this shoot.

In the photo:

  • Mini cheese and beef mince phyllo triangle puffs
  • Tomato, Boccini and fresh basil skewers
  • Pork wonton with a Hoisin dipping sauce
  • Creamy brie with tart sun-dried tomatoes and corn tortilla crisps
  • Fried spinach and ricotta ravioli in Chinese spoons on a tomato coulis
  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese bites
  • Chickpea falafel balls over shot glasses with creamy hummus

Our photoshoot spilled over into Pezula Interiors just to add a contemporary feel to this stylish and romantic wedding theme.

We all predict smaller weddings but “big wedding vibes” for 2021!
