Plett’s newest five-star establishment, Crags Country Lodge
Plett Tourism would like to congratulate Crags Country Lodge for their recognition as a five-star rated establishment. Awarded by the South African Tourism Grading Council, this prestigious acknowledgement is a credit to the region and reflects the lodge’s commitment to excellence in hospitality, service and quality.
Crags Country Lodge, which opened its door earlier this year, offers a comfortable and relaxing stay in the heart of nature. Located just off the N2 in The Crags, the lodge offers a cozy and charming stay with spacious rooms, delicious meals, and stunning views of the surrounding forests and mountains. Here, you can relax and let them tend to your every need or enjoy a variety of nearby activities such as wildlife sanctuaries, hikes and boutique wine farms. Guests can enjoy a delightful dining experience and lounge beside the fireplace or outside under the boma.
This unspoilt oasis is a haven for plant, bird and animal life and many evenings the local wildlife – bush pig, bush buck and the occasional porcupine – can be spotted just metres from the lodge. There is an established walking trail down to the beautiful Whiskey Creek which offers exciting bird sightings including the Knysna turaco and other indigenous species.
Each of the lodge’s eight rooms are tastefully decorated, with king size beds and special natural views and private patios. The natural surroundings have been the source of inspiration for the decor, using earthy tones to create a tranquil and calming atmosphere. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and cocktails with a view of the majestic Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains on an expansive wooden deck.
