Plettenberg Bay’s second match in the International Polo series was held at Stonefield Polo Field on Saturday, the 3rd of January. The game was a thrilling success for players, ponies and spectators. The weather was perfect for polo, slightly overcast with warm temperatures and a cool breeze. Young England’s Cowdray Park Colts defeated Young South Africa’s Colts with a close match of 7 to 4.
Young England’s Cowdray Park Colts were accompanied by their vice-president Lila Pearson, and joint Stonefield owners – polo player Doug Lund of Newstead Lund Family Vineyards and Chick Leigh of Rare Earth Wines.
Plettenberg Bay polo matches are played daily at Kurland and Stonefield during December and January and then again in March and April each year. The next Plett Polo International will be on the 29th of December, 2015. The U18 coaching clinic takes place in early December each year.
