A selection of canapés will be served on the lawns and there will be a bar serving a complimentary gin cocktail as well as a cash bar for wine and spirits.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Under the generous patronage of Wilja Reitz, Ouland Royale Baroque Barn will resound with operatic arias and duets by Mozart, Donizetti, Puccini and Verdi, operetta and musicals performed by Dr Lisa Engelbrecht, soprano/piano and Makudupanyane Senaoana, tenor, two highly talented and versatile musicians.
Lisa is a renowned musician in both South Africa and Europe where she regularly performs and coaches. She received her B.Musc degree at UCT in piano performance and went on to study voice in Milan and completed an opera diploma at the Conservatoire di G. Verdi. She decided to fuse her skills as both singer and pianist when she was accepted on a full scholarship to the Royal College of Music for a Post Graduate diploma in Higher Performance for Repetiteurs in 1998. She has coached in Strasbourg, Savona, San Francisco and New York. Whilst in the USA she embarked on a Masters in Vocal Accompaniment at the University of Illinois. She achieved her Doctorate in Collaborative Musical Performance and Thesis in 2008 at UCT. She is the Operatic Vocal Coach at the University of Cape Town’s Opera School where she also lectures in Lyric Diction.
Lisa is also part of the dynamic Cape Town- based duo, the Opera Angels, with Linsday Thomson, British Mezzo soprano. Together they create unique performances encompassing many musical genres.
Makudu hails from Lesotho and initially studied at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School. He completed his Undergraduate and Post Graduate Performers degrees at the UCT Opera School. He continued his Masters in Music at the Hochschule in Cologne and has performed internationally with Cape Town Opera in productions of Porgy and Bess and in William Kentridge operas in the USA and Europe. He performs regularly as a soloist with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in oratorio and symphonic works.
He has just been awarded 3rd Prize in the INTERNATIONAL GIOVANNI CONSIGLIO VOICE COMPETITION and has currently been performing in the role of Ferrando in ” Cosi fan Tutte” at Artscape in Cape Town.
