A21 Walk For Freedom

Wheelchair Friendly Child Friendly
A21 Walk For Freedom in Plett
Event Date: 14 October, 2023

Walk for Freedom is a day of global awareness and local action in the fight against human trafficking.

DATE: 14 October
TIME: 09:30 AM to 12:00 PM
VENUE: NG Church, 15 Marine Way

Slavery still exists. It is estimated that as many as 50 million people are living in various forms of exploitation known as modern slavery. Human beings are being sold in nearly every country around the world.

Human trafficking is a R270 trillion industry annually. It is a widespread and critical issue that unfortunately relies on travel and tourism networks to operate. We don’t want this happening in our beautiful town. Together we can break the cycle of human trafficking and end slavery everywhere, forever.

Join tens of thousands of people taking action in hundreds of cities worldwide on Saturday 14 October 2023, to raise awareness about human trafficking.

What happens during the Walk and what will it look like?

  • It is a silent, single-file line walk through town.
  • We all wear black on the day to be noticed as a unified cause.
  • We carry posters and hand out fact sheets as we walk.
  • The Walk starts and ends at the NG Church on Marine way and the route is about 2,6 km long.
  • Day-of registration and check-in opens at 9h30.
  • A21 Walk For Freedom t-shirts will be available for purchase on the day.

Take a stance against human trafficking and help to keep our residents and visitors safe. Join our Plett Walk for Freedom today.
