Farmer’s Day will be held on Saturday 31st May 2014 from 10h00 at Newstead Wine Estate in The Crags.
Entrance is FREE
The activities will be formally opened by Mr Sean Mansfield, the Chairman of the local Farmers Association, at 10h00.
The formal opening will be followed by short introductory talks by:
- Dave Hodgson – The production of Honeybush Tea.
- Alex Poynton – Soil Nutrition
The following agricultural activities in the Crags will be showcased:
- Macadamia Nuts
- Honeybush Tea
A tractor driver course will be presented to pre-selected drivers on Friday 30 May from 13h00. This course will be followed by a tractor driving competition on 31 May. Prizes will be presented to the first three successful competitors.
Food and beverages will be available for sale to the general public in attendance:
- Hamburgers, Vetkoek and mince, Pancakes, Mini-milk tarts, Coffee, Tea, Cooldrinks, Water.
- No other food and beverages will be permitted.
