This garden has been in operation for 30 years and produces flowers and foliage for the Harkerville Saturday Market, Food Lovers Market in Knysna and many florists in the Western Cape.

Ulrike Baldzuhn has been hard at work; her energy and creativity knows no bounds. New beds have been dug and planted; new paths artistically created with mosaic patterns.. The new track down to the lake has a clivia border. The dams are full and birders are encouraged to bring their binoculars and to spend a few quiet moments sitting on the bench by the lake.

The circular garden with the naturally filtered eco-pool, is now well established. A beautiful and tranquil spot. Ulrike has learned to drive the digger loader – her husband and son, Bruno and Tarquin own Two Torque earth moving equipment which has played such an important part in creating and extending the garden. Black gold in the form of home-made compost is used to nourish the plants – Hum Bee Flora is totally organic.

  • Tea and Cakes can be enjoyed in the spacious garden Voluntary donation appreciated.
  • Ulrike will produce a map of the garden for visitors.
  • Sturdy walking shoes and a hat are a necessity.
  • Birders bring your binoculars.
  • Hospice Plett is so grateful to the Baldzuhn family for their continued generosity and support.
