This magnificent farm which produces the glorious cut flowers for both the Harkerville Market and the Food Lover’s Market in Knysna has been in operation for the last 25 years.
There are walks suited to everybody’s needs, some short and easy, some longer to the top ridge for those who wish to see where the proteas are grown or down through the forest to the large dam used for irrigation. The northern slope is where the annuals are cultivated; the earthworm basins sound fascinating. The hydrangeas have loved the rain and are at their showy best; the zinnias are a veritable riot of colour.
Sturdy walking shoes and a hat are a necessity. Birders bring your binoculars.
This event most generously hosted by Bruno and Ulrike is to raise funds for HOSPICE PLETT, specifically towards a projected musical event in October. Dr Lamont was Ulrike’s piano teacher and it is commendable that she wishes to financially support Anneke’s vision in this way.
Dr Anneke Lamont was the Director of Music at Oakhill School in Knysna from 2015 –2018. She is currently Head of Piano at the Odeion School of Music centered at the University of the Free State. She is recognised as a top performing pianist and is a sought after chamber musician. She initiated the Voices for Hospice concerts in 2017 with Richard Cock and fellow musicians and local choirs in Knysna and in Plett. These concerts were most successful and greatly assisted in raising awareness of the work of both Knysna/Sedgefield and Plett Hospices in our community.
We look forward to welcoming you all.
