PLETT RAGE 2021: VACCINATION REQUIRED TO ATTEND

Plett Rage 2021 - 18 Aug Vaccination Requirement - Timeline PostThis year’s 4-Day limited capacity Double Weekender Plett Rage festival taking place on 3 to 6 December & 8 to 11 December 2021 will require proof of vaccination to attend.

“The Western Cape is considering a plan that would require proof that people are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before they are allowed to enter nightclubs and other entertainment venues.” – iol.co.za (17 August 2021)

We have split the traditionally one-week-long festival into two four-day events to keep numbers low in the light of last year’s COVID-19 spread that took place at Durban Rage 2020.
As organisers of Plett Rage, we believe that by not trading in 2020, examining what happened at Durban Rage, and with a better understanding of COVID-19 by the medical community, we
we will be able to take on the mammoth task of unlocking the South African music industry as Europe & the United States have started to do.

“What better way to be able to get back into a nightclub than via the vaccine? I think we also need to say to our younger people that when they come … they must bring a plus one.” – Premier Alan Winde.

In addition to needing proof of vaccination, attendees will also be required to present a negative PCR test taken no longer than 72 hours before their weekend.

Upon arrival, organisers will test each Rager with a rapid antigen test before receiving a wristband. Due to Plett Rage being a multi-day event, we will also enforce another rapid antigen test before Ragers return home.

We will adhere to the COVID-19 restrictions implemented by the Western Cape government in subject to the approval of an event to take place, within the restriction on gatherings legislation.

One month before the festival we will have a status meeting with all the relevant parties. We will also monitor the possibility of a 4th COVID-19 wave, before giving the festival the go-ahead. All patrons will receive a full refund, less Howler booking & banking fees, should the event stakeholders not go ahead with the event one month prior.
