Plett Streetlights Festival 

Event Date: 16 December, 2021

Join the new mayor of Bitou Municipality, Councillor Dave Swart, on the 16th of December as he switches on the Christmas lights in Main Street, officially heralding the start of Plett summer season 2021.

Come down and show your appreciation for the volunteers and their associations marching in procession, who do so much to keep Plett safe, clean, healthy and beautiful. A parade of Plett polo ponies and riders follows, always an unforgettable and exciting spectacle.

The festivities start with the music of DJ Merv at 6 pm, who will take the evening all the way through till 9 pm.

Observe the mask and distancing protocols. Covid monitors will be on duty. Alcohol on the street is strictly prohibited.

Order of Events for Streetlights Party

  1. Music starts at 6 pm with DJ Mervyn on the street
  2. The parade of VIPPs (Very important Plett People) takes place at 6.30 pm
  3. The Polo pony parade will follow, coming up Main street to the Dolphin Circle where they’ll stop for photo ops, and then head back the way they came.
  4. The mayor, Dave Swart will be addressing the people at around 8 pm and the Christmas lights will be switched on, officially signaling the opening of Plett summer season.
  5. Music closes at 9 pm
