DATE: Monday 16th February 2026
TIME: 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM
VENUE: Beacon Isle Hotel
This passionate team shares fascinating information about these amazing sea creatures ahead of the annual “turtle hatchling stranding season” which usually starts towards the end of March every year. During this stranding season, 100’s of tiny baby turtles are stranded on the beaches of the Western Cape due to cold shock, they need to be found and safely brought in to the turtle conservation centre where they are nursed back to health and prepared for release.
The Western Cape coastline boasts an incredible turtle rescue network of 1000s of people and this is our opportunity to meet these people face to face and show our appreciation.
The sea turtle rescue project is proudly
supported by Plett Ocean Festival.
