The Palette, The Furnace, The Chisel and Off The Blade
This is the second Joint Exhibition showcasing local artistic talent. The exhibition is in collaboration with Hospice Plett with the artists most generously donating ten percent of the price of any work sold.

The artists Ingrid Tonkin and Tessa Hinton are joined by Helen Mudge. All have their own individualist style. Patrick Reid of Reidwood will be exhibiting his furniture and sculptors Robert and Brendan Leggat, their new bronzes. They are joined by Zolani Mpente who will make the long journey to Plett from his Transkei home near Port St Johns in the Transkei. A pupil of the late Julius Mfete he carves equally delicate figures wooden figures and animals depicting rural life in the Transkei. With his chisels and precious woods, he will be carving during the exhibition.
The first exhibition which was held in April last year was greeted with delight and appreciation. Over four hundred people visited the exhibition returning and bringing their friends to marvel at the works on display. This was facilitated by Free Admission and R7,500 was raised through the collecting tins.
In the words of the Chairman of Hospice Plett “The stylishly mounted exhibition reflected creative brilliance”. A pleasure awaits us all.
