First annual Bra Dash in Plett

Published: October 22nd, 2020

Nineteen89 Plett & Events On Route, will be hosting the first Annual Bra Dash in Plettenberg Bay.

The event will be hosted on Sunday the 25th of October from 10h00 till 12h00.

We are calling on our community to join us in our fight to raise awareness around breast cancer.

Cancer is a very personal issue that we have all felt in one form or another. It does not discriminate, it does not care about gender or races, it does not sway from the privileged or the underprivileged. It is very real and has destroyed more families than the current pandemic affecting the world we live in today.

Tickets will be on sale on Howler’s website www.howler.co.za, cost to participate will be R120 per person with all proceeds being donated directly to CANSA SA, with a special earmark for the Plettenberg Bay Ward.

We ask all participants to come out in their best pink bras, sportswear, or T-shirts. Bring your dogs if you have pink clothes that fit them. We will be selling various items at registration on the morning of the event if you are missing that specific item to finish your outfit.

Plett Bra Dash

Roads will be closed along Main street during this time, roads affected from Beacon Way (Corner Cupid) all the way up Main ending at the dolphin circle (Strand) The area between Market square and Cupid will be closed entirely. After the circle, the high street will only be closed to traffic going up Main.

The Bra Dash will be a parade that makes its way up the main street, along the entire business district of Plett, we implore all businesses to be open and join in by adding pink to your shop fronts and coming out to support the cause. We are hoping to raise more than R250 000.00 for this and we need your help to do it.

This will become an annual affair and can only grow from strength to strength with the help of our community. Nineteen89 restaurant will have pink ribbon on sale during the month of October. Please pop in, buy a roll, and wrap a tree or light pole along the main street. Sign it and post a picture online using #BraDashPlett.

If you would like to assist and make an additional contribution to this cause, please contact wesley@eventsonroute.co.za.
