iKasi Media, PlettiKasi Media is an organization based in Plett, focused on up-skilling film media practices, offering introductory training programs for disadvantaged youth who want to enter the Film and Television Industry and  guiding eligible candidates in the next step towards employment.   One of the goals is to create uplifting content in collaboration with the Plett communities.

In 2015 Ikasi launches a Film Appreciation course, designed as an introductory program for visual literacy.  It forms part of the recruitment strategy for the annual MyMovie Training Camp, an intensive 3 week training program introducing participants to the basics of HDV production.

Plett Food Film FestivalIn 2016 Ikasi produces their first made for TV film, Bhaca Boy, a soccer story. The production will take place entirely in Kwanokuthula, involving 200 locals as well as several small businesses like catering, transport and accommodation. MyMovie Training Camp learners will be trainees on the production.

Two more films will be in development for 2017 and 2018 by the end of this year.  Ikasi’s annual fundraiser is the successful Plett Food Film Festival in partnership with Plett Tourism.
