Launch of keyless beach locker solution in Plettenberg Bay
Liberty Lockers, a Plettenberg Bay-based company that provides secure, outdoor/beach locker systems, announced today the launch of its new smart locker solution.
By integrating technology, innovation and design, Liberty Lockers has created a keyless locker system that is brandable and also offers a USB recharging facility in each locker. The round locker systems are fully solar-powered, and the product is 100% proudly South African.
At present, Liberty Lockers systems are located on Central and Robberg 5 beaches in Plettenberg Bay and are soon to be installed on Amanzimtoti beach in KwaZulu-Natal.
“We are very excited to be the first to offer this service in South Africa. As one of South Africa’s leading beach destinations, safety and security of our guests is paramount. Commitment from the Bitou Municipality, Plett Tourism, the Plettenberg Bay Community Police Forum and our local business owners and residents have encouraged a safe environment. Liberty Lockers is offering an invaluable service to extend these efforts,” comments Patty Butterworth, CEO Plett Tourism.
How the keyless beach lockers work
The Liberty Lockers keyless solution is simple and user-friendly. First-time users log onto the Liberty Lockers website, either by scanning the QR code that will be displayed on the lockers or logging straight on to www.libertylockers.co.za. Users then book a locker by selecting a location and date range search. A list of available lockers then appears, and users can book any locker from the list. Once payment has been made, an sms and an email are sent to the user, confirming location, date range and PIN number.
“We are definitely planning to expand and are anticipating many more sites on the KwaZulu-Natal coastline, as well as in Cape Town”, says Malcolm Katz, MD of Liberty Lockers.
