For the past 5 years, a team of keen cyclists have donned the bright orange shirts of Lunchbox Theatre Legends and headed down to Cape Town to cycle the Cape Town Cycle Tour. All this in aid of supporting Lunchbox Theatre’s educational theatre shows and workshops in rural and underprivileged schools.
In 2021 Covid robbed us of that opportunity. But from this came an opportunity to explore a new adventure. We had long since spoken of taking the Legends on a multi-day tour. Now the timing was perfect and the door wide open.
So, a team of 25 cyclists, backup crew and Lunchbox team will head into the Karoo to breathe the freshest air and enjoy the wide-open spaces while pedaling 170km over 2 days.
It’s not going to be easy for this mixed bag of, mostly Plett-based, Legends but they are all tackling this challenge as they believe in the huge impact that Lunchbox Theatre’s work has on the thousands of kids they educate and entertain every year.
