The development and upgrade of tourism products in Plett has been a popular course of action for industry related products over the past three years.

In 2017 and 2018, we saw the upgrade of several properties including The Bungalow Plett and new rooms added to Plett Beachfront Accommodation. Also, the development of three new accommodation offerings – Sky Villa, The Junction and a new luxury tented option – Africamps.

Earlier this year we also witnessed the transformation of several other properties. Emily Moon River Lodge added six new bungalows. The Beacon Island Lifestyle Resort took on a major undertaking with the facelift of eight luxury suites, 192 bedrooms, the conference facility and the reception area. They will now start the redesign and refurbishment of the dining rooms –Robberg Room, Captain’s Cabin and the Gazebo deck.

The renovation done at The Grand Café Rooms & Rendezvous on Main Street was a huge success, so much so that the group purchased and upgraded the iconic The Lookout Deck and opened the new Grand Lookout (formerly Equinox).

As we write this, we are seeing another transformation on Plett’s Main Street with room renovations, a restaurant renovation and an exterior upgrade at the Bayview Hotel.

Exciting times for the tourism community of Plettenberg Bay as local business investment thrives.
