Wondering what to do this New Year’s Eve in Plett?
As you probably know by now, in an effort to combat Covid-19, the beaches in Plettenberg Bay have been closed since 16th December and no gatherings are permitted in public areas like parks, rivers, lagoons or beaches. Also, a curfew is in place, so everyone will have to be at home by 9pm.
For many, it may seem that New Year’s Eve will be a letdown. But perhaps this year we just need to approach it from a different perspective.
Perhaps you can make it a New Year’s Eve to remember with a relaxed braai or dinner party at home with the closest members of your family. Play a board game, tell stories, watch a family movie or simply chat about the year that wasn’t as you ring in the new one.
So, stock up with your favourite dishes and make sure you follow the guidelines as we say goodbye to 2020 and usher in 2021, a year that we all hope will be a much healthier and more prosperous one for us all.
Fireworks in Plett this NYE
REMEMBER: Fireworks in Plett are banned at all times and New Year’s Eve is no exception. Please don’t break the law by setting off your own fireworks display, no matter how small. Apart from upsetting pets, Plett is an area that has only recently started recovering from the horrendous fires of 2017, so the threat of veld fires is always present, and even more so in Summer.
The Plett Tourism Team wishes everyone a peaceful New Year’s Eve and a healthy, prosperous 2021.
