Please note: Urgent communication from Bitou Municipality and the JOCC.
The N2 is currently closed due to protest action. Please use airport road or Wittedrift rd when travelling.
An application for a march has just been approved on even date, by a triangular meeting between Bitou Public Safety, SAPS and Provincial Traffic. Marchers will convene at the Kwanokuthula taxi rank, from 07:00 – 09:00, tomorrow (Wednesday, 20 February 2019) and the march itself will commence at 09:00.
A route through Kwanokuthula, merging onto the N2 walkways will be followed, and then into Marine Drive up to the Engineering Services depot, where the acting municipal manager, Mr. Sompani or a delegated representative will receive the petition. Residents from New Horizons will also join the march at the Castleton, at the bridge.
The convenor of the march has agreed to the conditions that the march or mobilization for the march will not interfere with learners, workers, other road users or members of the community.
