NVT achieves significant milestone at Kudu Awards

Last week, Nature’s Valley Trust and the Nature’s Valley Ratepayers Association achieved a significant milestone at the South African National Parks (SANParks) #KuduAwards2023, a celebration of achievements in conservation management across South Africa.

The purpose of the awards is to recognise external stakeholders for their contributions and efforts in making SANParks the custodian of choice for the national parks system in South Africa. The Kudu Awards is an initiative to celebrate the successes and contributions of individuals and groups in conservation management in South Africa.

The key to the success of conservation management lies in the dedication of all people involved in the protection of South Africa’s natural assets and heritage. The primary objective is to give recognition to award winners and in doing so raise awareness about efforts being done in conservation management.

Prof. Hendri Coetzee, director of Nature’s Valley Trust (NVT), proudly accepted the award on behalf of both organisations. This recognition highlights their remarkable community-driven efforts in conservation within the Nature’s Valley area and its surroundings. The award specifically honours their dedication to promoting sustainable biodiversity and safeguarding cultural heritage, making a profound impact on their communities and beyond.

The Nature’s Valley Trust is a small community-driven NPO working at the cutting edge of integrated conservation in South Africa. We operate in four main arenas, namely conservation, education, community engagement and research

Congratulations to Nature’s Valley Trust, the Nature’s Valley Ratepayers Association, and all involved for this well-earned recognition. This accomplishment reflects their commitment to preserving our wild spaces and fostering community conservation efforts.
