South African Tourism participated in its second annual roadshow to the Nordic Region from October 17 – 26. The organisation applied a new model to applications for roadshows this year, ensuring a geographical spread of the products on show.
SA Tourism took ‘networks’ of South African products on the roadshow that incorporated products from across all nine provinces. The products were grouped in accordance with key experiences that SA Tourism has identified as marketable. These are Active Adventure, City Lifestyle, Coastal Beach, Cultural Roots, Scenic Outdoors and Wildlife Safari.
Several Garden Route products and their towns were represented, at six different locations including Aarhurst, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm. Plettenberg Bay was represented by Lara Mostert from SAASA (the South African Animal Sanctuary Alliance) and Natasha Marnewecke from Tube ‘n Axe and Ocean Blue Adventures. The four key pillars of focus for the Garden Route representatives included Active Adventure, Coastal Beach, Scenic Outdoors and Wildlife Safari experiences.
The Nordics Africa Showcase highlights exceptional travel products and experiences from Southern, East and Central Africa to wholesalers, tour operators and travel agents across the world. The roadshows are engaging and educational, designed to create strong business connections between African specialists and the suppliers participating on the roadshows.
Plett Tourism sponsored branded merchandise to be used as giveaways, and provided a video to showcase the many different activities and iconic locations in Plettenberg Bay. They also organised a treasure chest of product giveaways that were used to put different prize packages together to be awarded at each roadshow destination.
