Plett’s restaurant industry has joined the protests against the government’s regulation on their industry, which includes the sale of alcohol in their establishments during Covid-19 lockdown, and the early closing of their premises due to the curfew time of 9pm.

Many restaurants in town set up tables and chairs on the sidewalk and on the side of the road, and employees were seen holding placards as they stood in solidarity against the regulations that prevent them from serving alcohol to diners, and limiting the amount of time diners have due to the curfew restrictions.
