Confident and dynamic Porche insists that her current appointment isn’t her first tourism, betterment rodeo. She cut her proverbial professional teeth in ICT (Information, Communication & Technology) Management, Corporate Services, HR, and Tourism Coordination.

“It’s very important to me that I deliver work of the highest quality. I would describe myself as ethical, loyal, friendly, resilient, hardworking, spontaneous, and positive. I believe that there is a solution to any challenge simply waiting to be discovered.” Well said, Porche.

The tourism industry of South Africa typically contributes R425.8 billion to the country’s economy. It is no understatement, then, to call it a vital sector. Porche is looking forward to adding value to Plett.

What does the new appointee have in her arsenal? Porche earned her N4 and N5 Tourism certificates in 2012 and is currently in the process of earning a Diploma in Law. She clearly does not lack energy or ambition. As to her professional strengths, she acknowledges her ability to work well under pressure and to execute tasks in a professional and timely manner. Porche is happiest when she is employing her creativity, unique problem solving, and innovative ideas to the task at hand.

The pandemic has left its mark on the world, and Plett. Our world-class coastal tourism destination has experienced an unprecedented dry spell. It is now more important than ever to secure brilliant, eager minds with the dedication needed to go beyond the call required for such a task.

So, when you start engaging with Porche, be sure to give her the customary, warm, Plett welcome. The Bitou region is happy to have you, Porche, and we look forward to sharing your fresh ideas to reinvigorate that Plett feeling!
