Surf cafe is all about the vibe and nothing creates a vibe like a bit of live music.

We have an in-house PA system and basic stage setup, which means that travelling musicians need only bring their instruments, plug in and play.

Our Open Mic nights also give our local and visiting budding musos a chance to test themselves in a friendly, relaxed space.

Surf Cafe is an intimate venue and is perfect for acoustic acts and we’ve been blessed with fantastic performances, by artists such as Robin Auld, Wendy Oldfield, Steeling Love Jones, Southern Gypsey Queen, Babu, Dread Kings, Heather Waters just to name a few.

Local acts such as Wildfinger, 2Eleven, Ageing Superheroes, Reggae Ambassadors, Offshore Jazz Ensamble, Cuan Korsten, Chris Morningstar and Musical wizzard Johan Rautenbach are also regulars and our young Open Mic regulars are fast gaining in talent and confidence and we look forward to seeing their names in lights in the not too distant future.
