The Garden Route Film Commission is an effective one-stop service entry point for local and international productions coming to the Garden Route.
The office was established in 2017 to assist producers to identify and connect with support services, partners and role players in the region that are film-friendly. Services include permitting, crew, gear, locations, catering, transport and much more.
The Garden Route Film Commission screens and collects all the relevant information into an easy-to-use and efficient online system which supports local businesses to be film-friendly, connecting producers to their services and activating film and TV as a sustainable economic driver in the region.
The office is an independent body of government, tourism and industry experts whose aim is to unlock the potential for a regional film and TV industry by leveraging the unique and diverse combination of locations, ease of access and “Film Friendly” attitude.

“Great communication from the festival team. Due to us being on shoot, the filmmakers were unable to attend but the festival hosted our production manager who handled the Q&A on our behalf which led to a great screening with deep audience engagement afterwards.”
