Keurbooms Ferries

A boat trip with Keurbooms Ferries is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the beauty of Garden Route. Whether you’re a local or visiting from afar, the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve, only 7km from Plettenberg bay, offers a unique forest and gorge experience, accessible only by water.

As we glide along the tranquil waters, framed by the majestic Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains, you’ll learn about the river’s diverse ecosystem, the many bird species, and the fascinating forest habitats.

Your guide will point out native wildlife, from playful Vervet monkeys to colorful birds like the Knysna loerie and Fish eagle. After traveling 5 kilometers upstream, we’ll pause at a naturally formed riverbank where you can stretch your legs, explore towering Yellowwood trees, or relax by the amber waters with a picnic. It’s the perfect way to experience the essence of the Garden Route.
