I believe that all will agree that Plett Tourism has made significant progress over the past 33 months or so (please click here for the annual review to end June 2015) and as we continue to roll out our exciting plans to further boost tourism to our area, address the seasonality issue and facilitate broader based tourism opportunities, more employment opportunities will be created for the benefit of our entire community.
We are asking you to be part of this exciting initiative by becoming members of Plett Tourism, or, if you are already a member, renewing your membership.
Plett Tourism offers great value, with some of the benefits immediately apparent, while others will materialise over time. Benefits include:
- New Garden Route & Klein Karoo App: only Plett Tourism members or associate members will be included on this regional GR&KK app! With more than 48 000 users in one month, the app is gaining momentum and is actively marketing the region alongside key regional and national tourism partners. Your business will be featured on this app once you sign up. Content changes will be charged at R50.00 per change by the app manager.
- Voting at the AGM by members to elect Board Members and influence policy.
- Discounted rates and preference for media positioning across select marketing platforms (magazines, e-newsletters, website and social media) with Plett Tourism for both members and associate members.
- Membership rates and preferential access to Plett Tourism workshops and business functions.
- Free access to marketing and tourism data as it is developed.
- Recognition as a Plett Tourism Member on all our media platforms.
- Each member will receive a certified Member Certificate or Associate Member Certificate.
- And of course, you will be making a small contribution to the overall benefit which Plett Tourism is already bringing to the town!

We have simplified the membership process and as of 01 July 2016, membership will be charged at R1000-00 per annum, and associate membership will be charged at R800-00 per annum. You will be sent an invoice once your application is received and processed. The payment deadline to receive full membership benefits is 30 June 2016.

Membership of Plett Tourism is open to a bona fide tourism business (voting member), which has paid the R1000-00 annual membership fee, and which is not in arrears in respect of monies due to the Bitou Municipality. By joining Plett Tourism, a member agrees with the Constitution of the Plett Tourism Association.
Associate membership of Plett Tourism is open to a non-tourism business (non-voting member), which has paid the R800-00 annual membership fee, and which is not in arrears in respect of monies due to the Bitou Municipality. By joining Plett Tourism, an associate member agrees with the Constitution of the Plett Tourism Association.
