Leon Evans – aka Dr Evil – has just completed the 2018 route cutting for the event that he owns with business partner – Zandile Meneses. “We have upgraded two of our race villages this year and we are really looking forward to presenting them to the riders” – grins Leon. “If you take a look at the distances and the profiles you will see that this stage race is not Evil – it is for the entry level / medium strength rider AND the racing snake.”

Dr Evil measured the routes with a Garmin and they may change slightly depending on forestry harvesting operations that are taking place after the June 2017 fires in the area.

If you are interested in discounted MANUAL entries – please email zandile@drevilclassic.com. Route distances and profiles below.

Registration: Wednesday 19th September and Thursday 20th September = Stage 1: Venue – Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve

ROUTE: About 12% district roads, the balance all forestry roads and jeep tracks. No single track, all perfectly rideable and non technical. 71km with 1350m ascent. Highlights are the Plett Game Reserve and the most amazing scenery all on rarely unridden routes.

Stage 2:  Friday 21st September – Kurland Hotel and Polo Estate = ROUTE: Mostly on forestry roads with lots of jeep tracks, some tough climbs and rocky descents with some single tracks towards the end. 46km with 980m ascent is no doddle, but rewarded with pristine off the beaten tracks with awesome views.

Stage 3: Saturday 22nd September – Cairnbrogie Dairy Farm – ROUTE: The highlight of the 3 stages with the best of Harkerville and Cairnbrogie indigenous and coastal single tracks included. 51km and 850m ascent makes a fitting finale.

All 3 venues are magnificent and makes for 3 days of varying riding experience.
