SLOPS Plett Voted Best Pizza in “Best of Plett & Knysna” Awards
Over the past four months, the readers of the Knysna Plett Herald have voted and Plett Tourism would like to congratulate the winners, including SLOPS Plett – voted the Best Pizza in Plett & Knysna. Below, Deborah Tuebes of SLOPS Plett shares the story of this vibrant restaurant…
In May 2025 Slops restaurant and bar entered its second year of business. Positioned across from the well-known dolphin circle in Main Street, Plett, it is difficult to miss the bold branding and bright colours that are awash with oversized stripes, feature slip-slop chandeliers, fun artwork and a playful take on the beach umbrella. Chris Fermor has been aligned with his legendary pizzas for many years amongst locals and tourists alike.
Developing a new take on the bases for Plett’s new gathering place most certainly took a revolutionary development in the kitchen. Bringing pizza combinations from his nostalgic and well-loved offerings to adding the new and unexpected, the Slops sourdough pizzas have made a name for themselves. From the spicy chorizo pizza, to a must-try seafood topping, fungi and truffle oil combination to the popular bacon and creamed leek pizza, you are spoilt for choice!
The now famous and accredited Slops pizzas are available to be enjoyed in our bar or restaurant space and as a takeaway option. We have hosted many events with what is now referred to as the Slops roaming pizza, a fun way to keep guests casually mingling.
Join us for our family-friendly Fridays ,where all kids under 12 receive a complimentary kiddie’s size pizza and enjoy our play zone.
