Andile’s talk focused on the point that building a business should be purely about economics, and that passion and drive were key factors in making a business successful. He shared figures showing the massive divide in wealth in South Africa according to race and discussed how this was a consequence of Apartheid, but says he believes the way forward for entrepreneurs is to focus on the economics of business in order to succeed. He also encouraged entrepreneurs to make sure that their business idea was viable and that there was a market for their product or service.

Former MD of Power FM & former COO of MSG Afrika, Andile is a chartered accountant and was an investment banker with Investec Corporate Finance. He now holds the post of CEO at Brodkast, a newly formed investment holding company targeting assets in the telecommunications, media & technology sectors.

Andile will be playing golf at the SA Senior Open Pro/Am this week in Plettenberg Bay.
