African Edu-Eco Wizard has developed a number of guided Eco-Birding Adventure experiences in the Plettenberg Bay and Greater BITOU region to promote a better understanding of the various diverse habitats and their feathered inhabitants.

‘PLETT’ AND GREATER BITOU GUIDED ECO-BIRDING ADVENTURES

Plettenberg Bay and its surrounds include Natures Valley, the Crags, the Keurbooms River and Estuary, the Bitou River Wetlands, Uplands, Plettenberg Bay Town, Robberg Vlei, Robberg Nature Reserve, Harkerville and the Indian Ocean offering a unique diversity of habitats supporting a wealth of birdlife. With a species count of 321 birds, including 27 true and near endemics, amateur and experienced birdwatchers alike will find the various habitats and ‘Hot-Spots’ to be most fulfilling and rewarding. If it’s a well rounded experience you are looking for, then look no further.

“Our focus is primarily on the various localised hotspots which have consistently delivered great bird encounters. Our Eco-Birding Adventures go beyond a purely bird focus. We explore a wealth of interpretive opportunities including encounters with various habitats, cultural and historical accounts, mammals, reptiles, insects and amphibians.”

Each Eco-Birding Adventure is led by a highly qualified field guide who will facilitate a wonderful interactive birding experience. Your guide will ensure that big and small will be observed and interpreted. Interpretation of bird anatomical features, bird physiological adaptations, bird form and functionality in the environment are topics discussed throughout the Eco-Birding adventure. Silence is observed where silence is required.
