Colour your world – Plett ARTS Festival 2025
Plettenberg Bay, South Africa – True story … Plett has festival fever having just wrapped up another amazing Plett Ocean Festival. It’s because this area cannot get enough of connecting, celebrating, inspiring, transforming, imagining and just generally sharing good vibes … which means, there’s more!
This is your heads up for the annual Plett ARTS Festival taking place in October, celebrating the beauty of expression – art and nature – in this diverse, multi-cultural, super cool community. The festival is a chance to roll out the red carpet and welcome locals and visitors for ten days of festivities that transform the town and surrounds each year. It’s perfect timing as sunsets are later and lingering is longer – paired with art and entertainment, and #plettitsafeeling – it’s set to welcome another salty, sandy, steamy summer.

The Plett ARTS Festival, now in its 12th year, is more than just art; it’s a celebration from Nature’s Valley to Kranshoek, as artists come together to express themselves by showcasing their talents and reminding us not to necessarily see things as they are.
For example, think of the famous Dutch land artist Theo Jansen, who creates “Strandbeests” – large kinetic sculptures made of PVC pipes that move with the wind and appear to walk. It’s a beautiful thing! So, too, in this neck of the woods, budding ‘Theo Jansens’ and a network of amazing artists using all kinds of mediums are gathering to showcase their latest work and inspire you with their creativity.
From the Land Art Route with works connected to and rooted in nature, to portraits, still life and landscapes in acrylics and oils; bronze sculpture, outdoor concerts and theatre. While many are established in their craft, the festival also encourages budding artists to express themselves and pursue their passion as they step up and just go for it!

As is tradition, the festival kicks off with the Twilight Meander through Plett’s main street. Dressed-up to impress, stroll the street with buskers on all corners and art everywhere. Meet the artists and sip and savour wine and snacks as you go. Pop in for a meal at a restaurant surrounded by recently hung artwork or check out a performance in a hidden space with a glass of bubbles, as we connect in Plett. The remaining 10 days are packed with music, poetry, fine art, jazz, film, a land art route, collaborative installations, workshops and talks, cultural performances and exhibitions – all happening in the forests, galleries, restaurants, tshisanyamas, and on the beaches.
A world-class arts and entertainment experience presented in a typically Plett way with legendary hospitality, the Plett Winelands, outdoor adventures and the beautiful beaches that make up the magic on a unique stretch of coastline. It’s going to be epic!
