James Kingston started the third round with three pars as the chasing pack tried to catch him. He heads into the final round at the SA Senior Open hosted by Bitou Municipality, held Plettenberg Bay Country Club, with his eyes set on South Africa’s senior major.

Mark McNulty dropped a shot at the first hole but quickly made it up on the second. Kevin Stone made pars on the first 5 holes before dropping at the 6th. He promptly birdied the 7th hole to get back to level par.

Kingston completed the front 9 on level par after two drop shots and two birdies.  McNulty also finished the front nine on level par as did Stone.  Quinn dropped at the second hole and eagled the 7th hole to be one under after nine.

Only four golfers recorded below par rounds, namely, Ian Palmer (-3), Neil Cheetham (-1), Chris Williams (-1) & Bobby Lincoln (-1).

The final round gets under way at 07:30 on Friday 25 October with James Kingston (-6), Mark McNulty (+2) & Kevin Stone (+3) making up the final group.

Weather conditions may prove a little tough as a strong wind & rain is predicted for the afternoon.
