An Orca was spotted around lunch time today in Plett cruising a couple of hundred meters behind the back line. At around 13h25 Plett Beach Watch reported on Facebook that an Orca was travelling towards BI and Central Beach.
“13H25 : Our visiting Orca is travelling towards BI and Central beach/Wedge BEACHES CLOSED : WEDGE , CENTRAL & ROBBERG 1-5 PLEASE OBEY ALL LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTIONS”
Orcas, also known as Killer Whales, are a rare site in Plett with typically only around 5 sightings a year.
