Plett Tourism’s 24 HOUR REUNION “extravaganza” event, in conjunction with local fashion industry event management company, FriCreatives, made its debut last weekend when local and national designers, fashion models and other industry talents transformed the White House Theatre Venue and the town into a fashion talent hub for 24 hours. From in-town photo shoots, a red carpet entry, runway show, live entertainment and after-party – the event was an incredible experience for all involved.

The evening was opened by Minster of Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism, Alan Winde, followed by a live performance to open the runway. Celebrity South African models included David Kabamba, Irvine Bosha, Tyrese Bani, Vincent Ntunja, Mandla Waterson and Rowhan Rhode rocked the runway alongside several local models. They hit the runway with designs from Deep Settle Movement with a live performance by rap artist Pumi, but by far the highlight of the evening fashion was local Plett designer Nada J’s collection of inspiring urban streetwear and other Plett designer Emmanuelle’s designs with local flair.

SA Idol’s 2015 top 8 finalist, Lungisa, provided some live entertainment alongside vibrant and talented local performers. Last-but-not-least, the night finished with all guests, models and photographers hitting the after-party event at local nightclub Zanzibar to dance and mingle until 6am the next morning.

The 2016 Plett 24 Hour Reunion, sponsored by Plett Tourism, was a runaway success. Plett Tourism hopes to bring the 2nd edition to Plett again in 2017!
