Spring Splash Day in support of community initiatives
The Spring Splash Day is a celebration to kick off the spring season after the cold winter to get people’s moods lifted and let everyone enjoy the beautiful weather in style.
Easing everybody gently into summer, this event catered to children and adults of all ages, promoting healthy, fun family outings. Hosted at Kwanokuthula Stadium on the first weekend of September 2022, the kids’ area was fenced off with dedicated caretakers to look after the children to ensure their safety. The little ones were entertained with all types of activities like face painting and jumping castles. Food trucks and food stalls kept children and adults well fed. In support of community initiatives, a free stand space was taken up for the Youth For Change organisation to sell food.
Over 25 local artists performed throughout the day, alongside guest artists ZainSA and Masterdee to keep the crowd entertained and the vibe alive. Adults had the option of the general area, or the secluded VIP area for a complete VIP experience, which included a swimming pool for the VIPs to cool down in the heat with their refreshing beverages.
