kwano-cpf-hiv-aids-2Project co-ordinator for the Kwa-Nokuthula Community Policing Forum (CPF), Ntomboxolo Mrubata, sent the tourism office a letter of thanks last week for the financial assistance they received in support of their recent event.

The CPF was involved in setting up the venue for the Bitou Local Aids Council at their recent HIV Awareness event, and used the funds that Plett Tourism provided to decorate the venue and purchase candles to be used at the event.

The CPF is involved in programmes to reduce crime in their communities, namely the ‘Bullying at School’ and the ‘School Drop-out’ programmes. These focus on capacity building, empowerment and crime prevention. They also work on issues such as substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence and poverty.

For more information if you would like to support their initiative, contact Ntomboxolo on 083 955 9338 or call the Tourism Office on 044 533 4065.
